Meet Casey

Originally from the US, Casey has lived and worked in multiple countries across the world, including USA, UK, EU, UAE, and now Australia.

Casey began her yoga journey at the University of Colorado and later completed her yoga teacher training in 2014 with Yogacharya Santhosh Kumar, founder of Yogadarshanam® Mysore and Internationally recognised Yoga Master.

Before moving to Australia, Casey created and ran her own yoga studio in the UK. In addition to teaching her own yoga classes, the studio was host to many world-renowned visiting teachers hosting workshops and retreats for students as well as yoga teacher immersions and continuing professional development (CPD) trainings.

The studio also partnered with Movement for Modern Life, known as “The Netflix of Yoga”, with classes filmed inside the studio. (Use code CASEY20 to save 20% off yoga subscriptions)

Casey began her yoga teacher training to dive deeper and discover the missing pieces throughout years of classes. Casey is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids in both ears. This means being a student in some yoga classes or studios can be a challenge with cues and instructions often missed. It can also feel isolating at times due to lack of accessibility, assumptions, awareness, and difficulty hearing. Due to this lived experience, she brings a renewed focus on accessibility and awareness to her own teaching to encourage access and inclusion for all.

Outside of yoga, Casey has spent her professional career working in digital marketing with a wide range of business types and sectors, from large corporations to entrepreneurial start-ups, including her own businesses. Whether delivering strategies, optimising campaigns, analysing results, or speaking on stage, she understands the “hustle culture” of professional businesses and has firsthand experience with the impact it can have on both physical and mental health.

Casey has most recently shifted her focus to more fulfilling work with not-for-profit governance and directorship education through The Observership Program with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and The Ethics Centre. This includes volunteer service for not-for-profit organisations and board observership.

The combination of Casey’s personal and professional experiences enable a unique understanding of the value of mindfulness, yoga, and accessibility, along with the importance of focusing on community, connection, and wellbeing in today’s challenging environment.
